FAQ: Dice Throne Adventures & Season One: Rerolled!

I am BRAND NEW, how does the basic Dice Throne game work? Where do I start?

Welcome to Dice Throne!

Dice Throne is a game of intriguing dice, tactical card play, powerful heroes, and unique abilities. The normal game is a fast-paced 2-6 player combat game (1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 2v2v2, or free-for-all), featuring a variety of heroes that play and feel completely distinct from one another. During the game, you’ll attack opponents and activate abilities by rolling your hero’s unique set of five dice, and accumulate combat points and spend them on cards that have a large range of effects, such as granting permanent hero upgrades, applying status effects, and manipulating dice directly (yours, your teammate’s, or even your opponent’s).

Geek & Sundry has an excellent video explaining the game further here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81EpTy-X4bY

Dice Throne Adventures brings a whole new dimension to the game, allowing you and your friends to take your favorite heroes through a cooperative campaign, featuring randomly generated worlds, beautiful environments, intense boss battles, innovative Diablo-style Looting, and non-destructive legacy elements.

As a new player, you will want at least two characters to play against each other (Season 1: Rerolled, Season Two, or at least the Treant/Ninja 1v1 Battle Box). If you would like to play Dice Throne: Adventures, you will also need one character per player involved in the game (you can add these on to the basic Dice Throne Adventures pledge, either now, or in the pledge manager).

What are the differences between Season One and Season One Rerolled?

Season One: Rerolled has been visually and physically upgraded to match Season 2. (This includes full art on cards, uniform card backs, tri-fold board, color coded dice.) Minor adjustments have been made to certain rules for clarity and player experience.

If I have Season One already, is it out of date now? Can I still use it with Dice Throne Adventures and heroes from Season Two or Season One: Rerolled? Can I upgrade it?

Season One is still 100% fine for play with your friends and family! The only time where you would actually need Season One: Rerolled will be if you want to play Season One heroes at the Dice Throne Con Grand Championship. All versions of Dice Throne are compatible with Dice Throne Adventures.

It is not really practical to “upgrade” a copy of Season One to Season One: Rerolled, as the only components that are completely unchanged are the dials and the status tokens. We are looking into offering a partial upgrade kit as an add-on option, which would likely consist of cards and some stickers; we know there is demand for this. Details will be finalized before the pledge manager is sent.

Are the minis required for play?

We think these are awesome, but they are entirely optional. Dice Throne Adventures comes with standees for all 16 heroes.

What if my country isn't listed in the shipping zones? Can I still pledge?

Sadly, no. We don’t like excluding friends and fans - we want you to have our game! - but our shipping partners, while excellent in so many other ways, have been unable to deliver consistent pricing, speed, reliability, and service in some locations. We apologize if you are one of the ones affected.

Once the game has fulfilled, we can ask courier services for quotes to your area if you want to order anyways; email us then and we’ll follow up with you.

Will this be published in other languages?

We definitely hope so! Unfortunately we have no dates, languages, or other specifics that we can promise yet… this is not likely to happen in 2019 or 2020, but we are working on it for the future.

Will there be a Print and Play level?

Not for Dice Throne Adventures, but we offer the Barbarian v. Moon Elf PnP at pnp.dicethrone.com for players that want to try out the base game.

Do all of these come with Champion premium swirled dice?

Yes. All of the dice, in all pledge levels, will be premium swirl dice.

Will there be a solo mode?

Yes. This is still under testing and development; we don’t expect to have many more details about it during the campaign, but it will be included.

Will the miniatures fit in the Battle Chests or the Dice Throne Adventures box?

The miniatures will arrive in their own storage boxes, but there are too many and they are too big to put them all into the Dice Throne Adventures box.

For your convenience, the design for Dice Throne Adventures will include space for four miniatures (four is the maximum that can play through a campaign at one time, so you would be storing the remainder anyways).

Can I buy just Dice Throne Adventures and play it without any Season One or Season Two heroes?

NO. Dice Throne Adventures is an expansion for the base Dice Throne System; the only characters it includes are bosses, which are not intended for use in regular play.

You will need one character per player in the game (any of the characters from Season One, Season One: Rerolled, or Season Two).

(Okay… technically yes; because you could buy it and play the bosses against each other, but this does not use nearly all the functionality of the game. You really want at least a couple of heroes.

What size are the minions? Are there sleeves for them?

The minions are a custom size; 131 mm (5.17 in) by 93 mm (3.6 in). We hadn’t planned sleeves for these, and are not aware of any existing product that matches them yet (we’d love to hear about it if you find one you recommend).

We do not recommend locking in a plan for sleeves for these, as these are still subject to change in size (and material).

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
